Do you want a functioning Democracy or not?
These are perilous times in the USA, though some of you are still acting like it’s a raucous party and you would like some more champagne. Our Democracy is teetering on the edge of a cliff and not enough people are even noticing (or taking is seriously enough)!
History tells us what happens next. When people like Trump and his minions put 3 super right SCOTUS justices in place and begin to load up the lower courts too, it’s clear what the end goal was. Total control by the GOP, which will be unrecognizable by then because it will be a total right-wing authoritarian regime.
To top all this off, Trump incited a riot/coup/insurrection on January 6th 2021 in an attempt to literally take over the country by force and prevent the peaceful transfer of power. The angry mob was calling for Pence’s head because he would not do their illegal bidding. Trump agreed with the crowd.
I watched every minute of the Jan 6th hearings so far. I wish everyone would. It is so clear that we came very close to losing our Democracy, and we kept it only because of a few heroic truly patriotic Americans.
And yet, a recent poll says only 50% of all Americans think Trump is guilty of something. This is shocking! They either didn’t watch the careful unfolding of endless damning Jan 6th testimony by Republicans, or they…
